Q235, on the other hand, is a Chinese standard steel grade. It is equivalent to EN standard S235JR steel grade which is commonly used in Europe. Q235 steel has a carbon content of 0.14%-0.22%, a manganese content of less than 1.4%, a phosphorus content of 0.035%, a sulfur content of 0.04%, and a silicon content of 0.12%. The ultimate tensile strength of Q235 is 370-500 MPa. In summary, EN39 S235GT and Q235 have similar chemical compositions but slightly different mechanical properties. The choice between the two depends on the specific application and requirements of the project.
